The inaugural Tshwane Tourism Fair, coinciding with Tshwane Tourism Week, took place from the 6th to the 7th October 2008 at the Tshwane Events Centre. The event was hosted by the Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality to reinforce public and public cooperation to forge linkages for future tourism, establish tourism products and attract more tourists into the city.
The delegation was invited to book a seat on different buses that went around to various city locations such as Freedom Park; Carousel; Super Sport Stadium; Fresh Produce Market; Church Square and CSIR. As the project house of the Tshwane Smart City Project will soon be based here, the Innovation Hub also welcomed 50 delegates for a tour of their facilities. The Innovation Hub is already involved in ICT city tourism initiatives.
